On 9-11-25 I will be having a spinal surgery and unavailable for at least a week, if I don't answer in this timeframe please be patient. I will get to all backlogged messages when I have recovered enough to do so.
What started as a passion project to breed therapy-quality rats has grown into something much bigger.
At Laughing Tree Rats, our journey began with the goal of raising emotionally balanced, gentle rats that could offer comfort and companionship, especially for people navigating mental health challenges. Along the way, we discovered just how misunderstood rats are, and how deeply they deserve better.
Today, our mission is twofold:

To responsibly breed sweet, social, well-handled rats raised with care and intention

And to educate the public about the intelligence, emotional depth, and value of rats as companion animals
Whether you're new to rats or already in love with them, we're here to share what makes them so special.
