Single rat-$35 (only available for homes with one rat or more already)

Two or more- $20 per furry companion

At Laughing Tree Rats, we prioritize the long-term health and respiratory well-being of our animals by maintaining a clean, well-ventilated, and irritant-free living environment. Our rats are housed in areas designed to minimize airborne particles and promote respiratory comfort.

We use only rat-safe, low-dust bedding materials and avoid pine, cedar, and other softwoods that can release harmful phenols. Regular cage cleaning is performed using gentle, pet-safe products that support hygiene without compromising air quality. We also monitor temperature and airflow to ensure optimal conditions year-round.

This commitment to environmental safety reflects our belief that every rat deserves to thrive in a space that supports both physical health and emotional security.

Adoption Process

Ready to bring home a new companion? Here’s how our adoption process works:

Reach Out
Start by contacting us with a little information about yourself and what you’re looking for in a rat companion. We’ll use this to help match you with rats that fit your needs and experience level.
Meet the Rats (Virtually)
Once we’ve reviewed your info and helped guide you toward the right litter or group, we’ll send you photos and videos of the available rats. You’ll be able to see their personalities, temperaments, and development before making a decision.
Reservations (For Rats Not Yet Ready)
If the rats you choose are still too young to go home, we require a non-refundable reservation payment of $10 per rat, which goes toward the final adoption cost. Once reserved, those rats will be marked as yours, and we’ll keep you updated on their growth and milestones until they’re ready to leave the nest.
Immediate Adoptions (If Rats Are Ready)
If the rats you select are old enough to go home, we’ll set a pickup date and time. Payment is due in full at pickup—no reservation payment needed.
Final Pickup & Going Home
When the time comes, you’ll pick up your new rats in person. We’ll give you any remaining guidance, records, and care tips so you can start your journey together with confidence.
